Travel:

We recently went on a vacation to Whistler & Blackcomb Ski Resort (http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/) early April this year.  The skiing was great for being the end of the season.  Out of the 200+ runs only a few were closed.  We flew from Las Vegas, NV on a direct flight with some extra United miles (www.united.com), using our favorite Star Alliance partner Air Canada.  After the short two hour flight we arrived in Vancouver, BC rented a car for hire and drove the 2 hour scenic drive to Whistler.

Lodging:

After much research we ended up deciding to stay at the First Tracks Lodge (http://www.firsttrackslodge.com/).  I can't say enough good things about this hotel.  Our room was a two story 1 bedroom unit with an additional sleeping area for our child.  Fully stocked kitchen with everything you could need and within 25 yards of the Creekside Gondola.

Best Photography:

1) Peak Lookout - Best accessed by taking the Harmony 6 or Big Red Express and skiing down to the Peak Express to the top of Peak Lookout.

Tips and Tricks:

Besides the awesome access to the Creekside Gondola from the First Tracks Lodge, we were also within a 3 minute walk to a grocery store, liquor store, and ski rental shop.  The ski shop would actually let you pick up the skis the day before your rental date (if you happen to get there by 1:00pm you can easily take them to the mountain and ski until the lifts shut down around 4:00pm).  We also brought our nanny and it was easy to swap the pass between her and my wife allowing for both to ski on the same pass.
