Stuck in San Francisco due to weather or a long layover? Well get ready to see the best of the city in four short hours. Here is the plan...
- Cable Car Ride
- Fishermen's Wharf
- Dirty Chai and breakfast at Boudin Bakery & Cafe
- Red and White Boat Cruise
- Golden Gate Bridge
The first stop is to grab $12 cash per person. The Cable Cars only accept cash and it is $6 each way. A favorite route of mine is the Powell Mason cable car route. We caught a ride outside the Sir Francis Drake Hotel on the corner of Powell and Sutter St.
The cable car service will end at Taylor and Bay St just four blocks from Fisherman's Wharf. During the morning the sun will provide excellent opportunities to catch beautiful iconic San Francisco photos like this one below! And with smaller crowds in the early morning, you can get a perfect shot with the Fisherman's Wharf sign.
But before exploring Fisherman's wharf pop in Boudin Bakery & Cafe to grab a quick breakfast and dirty chai...if that is your thing. Right outside the doors of Boudin you can find ticket sales for the Red and White fleet. Tickets are roughly $30 a person for the hour cruise, and kids under 5 are free. We took the first cruise of the day at 1000 and arrived back on the dock by 1105 to catch our 2:30pm flight from San Francisco International Airport. The Red and White Fleet really do provide some of the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. Have your camera ready for amazing views like these!!!
